Our Journey to the Adirondack Mountains: A Homecoming
Our journey to the Adirondack Mountains in 2023 wasn’t just another stop on the road—it was a homecoming. For 13 years before we set out to live full-time in our RV, we called this region home. We lived near Lake Placid, surrounded by the rugged beauty of the High Peaks, winding trails, and the unmistakable crispness of mountain air. When we sold our house and hit the road, we left behind not just a place, but a rhythm of life that had shaped us.
A New Perspective
This was our first time returning—not as residents, but as visitors. And that shift in perspective changed everything.
Driving through upstate New York again stirred something deep within us. The landscape was familiar: the dense pine forests, the glassy lakes, and the majestic mountains rising in the distance. We settled into a quiet lakeside campsite near 44.3644° N, 73.8352° W. For the first time in a long time, we paused.
Every morning greeted us with golden light dancing on the water and the mournful call of loons echoing across the lake—a sound that carried memories and a sense of place.
Rediscovering the Trails
We wandered trails we'd once known, now seen with fresh eyes. We breathed in the cool, pine-scented air and let the stillness of the Adirondacks wash over us. This visit reminded us of why we fell in love with this part of the world in the first place—the grounding quiet, the towering trees, and the sense that time slows among the peaks and forests.
The Essence of Adirondack Zen
Adirondack Zen was created to capture that moment. That feeling. That breath of familiarity wrapped in the perspective of distance.
Back in our tiny kitchen on wheels, we set to work crafting a scent that could bring us—and others—back to that place. At its heart is the fresh, vibrant aroma of blue spruce, enhanced by mint and eucalyptus for a clean, refreshing energy. Fir needle, cedarwood, clove leaf, spearmint, and red cedar ground the scent in the earthy richness of the forest we’ve walked through so many times.
This candle isn’t just about fragrance. It’s about home, memory, and reflection. It’s for those who know what it’s like to return to a place that once held your daily life—and to see it again through new eyes.

Conclusion
Returning to the Adirondacks was more than just a trip; it was a journey back to our roots. The mountains, lakes, and trails we once knew felt like old friends. Each moment spent there was a reminder of the beauty that surrounds us and the memories that shape our lives.
As we continue our adventures, we carry the essence of the Adirondacks with us. The scent of blue spruce and the sound of loons will forever remind us of our homecoming.
In the end, it’s about connection—both to nature and to the memories we cherish. Whether you’re a visitor or a local, the Adirondacks have a way of wrapping you in their embrace, inviting you to pause and reflect.
So, wherever your journey takes you, remember to find moments of stillness. Embrace the beauty around you and let it inspire your own adventures.
