One of the challenges of spending time in the desert is the lack of trees — which also means the lack of places to hang a hammock. After seeing friends using a portable hammock setup last year while camping in the desert, we knew it was something we eventually wanted for ourselves.
In December, we finally purchased the ENO Nomad Hammock Stand along with the ENO SingleNest hammock, and it has quickly become one of our favorite ways to relax while traveling.
If you’re an RVer, camper, or someone who spends time in places without natural anchor points, this setup can be a game-changer.
Disclosure: We purchased this hammock stand ourselves and were not sponsored or compensated for this review. All opinions are based on our personal experience using the product during our travels.

Why We Chose the ENO Nomad Stand
Our main reason for buying the Nomad stand was simple — flexibility.
When you’re traveling through desert environments like Arizona, Nevada, and California, there are often no trees available to string a hammock between. Having a self-supporting stand means you can create your own relaxation space almost anywhere.
After seeing how portable and easy it was to use, the decision was straightforward for us.

Setup and Portability
One of the best features of the ENO Nomad is its ease of setup. The stand assembles quickly and requires no tools or adjustments. Within minutes, you can have a fully functional hammock setup ready to go.
Everything packs into an included backpack-style carry bag, making it easy to transport to:
Campsites
Parks
Beaches
Scenic viewpoints
Desert boondocking locations
For travelers, portability makes a huge difference, and ENO clearly designed this with mobility in mind.
Weight and Storage
The stand weighs approximately 15 pounds 8 ounces, and the total weight with the bag, stakes, and accessories is approximately 18 pounds 12 ounces.
For a full hammock stand, that’s very reasonable and manageable for travel. It stores easily in the included carry bag and fits well in RV storage compartments.
The ENO SingleNest hammock we paired with it is also very well-made and packs extremely small, making it easy to keep on board without sacrificing space.

Comfort and Experience
Comfort is where this setup really shines.
The hammock is incredibly comfortable and has quickly become one of our favorite places to relax — whether that’s reading a book, enjoying the scenery, or just unwinding after a day of exploring.
We’ve already used it across multiple desert locations in Arizona, Nevada, and California, and it’s become something we look forward to setting up wherever we stay.
There’s something special about being able to relax outdoors in places where a hammock normally wouldn’t be possible.
Build Quality and Durability
Both the Nomad stand and the SingleNest hammock feel very well constructed. The materials appear durable, and the design feels stable and secure once set up.
ENO as a company has a strong reputation and consistently receives positive reviews for their products. Based on our experience so far — along with feedback from others — we expect this setup to hold up well over time and justify the investment.
The company also offers a 2-year “HangTough” guarantee, which protects the original buyer against defects in materials or workmanship under normal wear and tear conditions. Having that level of warranty support adds confidence when purchasing higher-priced gear.
Cost and Value
One thing to be aware of is the price.
The ENO Nomad Hammock Stand retails around $349, which is definitely on the higher end for a hammock setup. However, we’ve seen discounts and coupons ranging from 15–20% off, which can help reduce the cost.
Additional components include:
ENO SingleNest Hammock — approximately $84.95
ENO Rain Fly — approximately $84.95
The rain fly is something we plan to add in the future. While it provides rain protection, we’re especially interested in using it as shade in desert environments where sun exposure can be intense.
While the total investment can add up, for us the portability, comfort, and flexibility make it worthwhile.

Who This Is Best For
The ENO Nomad Hammock Stand is a great option for:
RV travelers
Desert campers
Car campers
Beach outings
Parks and outdoor relaxation
Anyone without access to trees
If you primarily camp in wooded areas, you may not need a stand — but for open environments, this adds a lot of flexibility.
Is It Worth It?
For us, yes.
The ability to create a comfortable relaxation space almost anywhere we travel makes this a worthwhile addition to our gear. It’s portable, comfortable, and well designed — all things we value when living on the road.
If you’re someone who enjoys relaxing outdoors and often camps in environments without natural anchor points, this setup can absolutely enhance your experience.
Final Thoughts
Sometimes it’s the simple things that make life on the road more enjoyable. Having a comfortable place to relax outdoors — especially in places where you normally couldn’t — adds a new layer to the travel experience.
The ENO Nomad Hammock Stand has quickly become one of those items we’re glad we brought with us.
