In 2023, we made a decision that changed our lives — trading a traditional home for a fifth wheel and life on the road. But the journey to that moment started long before we ever hit the highway. Our next stop on this incredible journey brought us to Seattle, Washington—a city filled with vibrant energy, iconic landmarks, and stunning views. Although we didn’t stay directly in the city, we found a fantastic campground about an hour away in Monroe, Washington: the Thousand Trails Thunderbird Campground. The section of the campground we stayed in backed up to a beautiful river, providing us with serene, calming views during our workdays. We couldn’t have asked for a bet

After the unexpected detour from Glacier National Park and our brief stay in Coeur d'Alene, we finally found ourselves in the picturesque town of Leavenworth, Washington. The drive from the eastern part of the state to the stunning mountains surrounding Leavenworth was an adventure in itself. As we approached, the landscape transformed from arid plains to lush, tree-covered peaks, setting the stage for our next chapter.

Changing Course: From Wildfires to Yellow Jackets to Leavenworth After an incredible two weeks exploring Yellowstone National Park, our next destination was supposed to be Glacier National Park. We were eager to experience its stunning landscapes and pristine wilderness, but as often happens on the road, plans can change in an instant.

Our summer RV adventure continued with a fantastic second stop at the Xscapers 4th of July Rally in Sturgis, SD. This was a special event for us, as it marked Daxton's first Xscapers gathering, and we were excited to see our old friends and make some new ones, in addition to participating in the activities that make these rallies so memorable.

Our summer RV trip kicked off with a fantastic week at Devil’s Tower National Monument, a destination that left us both awe-inspired and grateful for the time we spent together. This was our first stop on our summer journey without our grandson, Daxton, and it turned out to be a perfect blend of adventure and relaxation.
